Appeal following assault in Liverpool city centre


An appeal from Merseyside Police

We are appealing for information following an assault in Liverpool city centre in the early hours of today.

It was reported a man had sustained a head injury after being struck with a sandwich board on Bold Street. It followed an altercation involving a group of males outside Diablos on Slater Street shortly before 4.10am.

Emergency services attended and he was treated by paramedics for a serious head injury before being taken to hospital for further treatment. His condition is described as serious but not life-threatening.

A scene is in place on Slater Street and part of Bold Street to allow for forensic examination of the scene. Witnesses have been spoken to and CCTV opportunities are being explored.
