Police appeal following an armed robbery at Valenti's Gelato store


Suspect still at large

Police were called just after 6:30pm on Thursday 23rd November following reports of an armed robbery having taken place at Valenti's Gelato store on the Barbican, in Plymouth.

It is believed that the suspect was armed with a handgun. He made threats to staff before demanding cash from the till and subsequently fleeing the area.

The suspect is described as a white male in his late 40's, average build, 5ft 8ins tall, short grey beard, gaunt cheekbones. He was wearing a grey hooded top underneath a brown material coat. The suspect had the upper part of his face covered with what is believed to be a pair of tights with black polka dots on.

A full policing response was sent to the area including officers from the armed response unit, but despite full searches the suspect was not located.

Police enquiries continue and officers from Plymouth CID are appealing for information.

Anyone who was in the area during the time of the robbery, or who is a resident of the area that may have CCTV that can assist, is asked to call 101 quoting crime reference CR/108480/18.
